More with less!
With Cardioid
Subwoofer Arrays (CSA) the directivity at low frequencies is substantially
increased, the consequent reduction of reverberant low frequency energy within a room
results in a proportionally higher direct to diffuse sound ratio. This
exceptional control in the low frequencies provides significantly more clarity and
better impulse behaviour going forwards to the audience, whilst also lessening the low
energy radiated backwards onto the stage. To achieve this a combination of either
three d&b Q or B2 subwoofers (or a multiple of three) are stacked with the middle
cabinet(s) facing backwards. A
D12
amplifier channel set to CSA mode (TI 330) controls the reversed subwoofers, whilst
the standard mode is used for all the cabinets facing forward. With this adeptness
in facing backwards to come forwards its no wonder the D12 amplifier lies at the
very heart of d&b's system concept: complete systems consisting of the control electronics,
loudspeakers, accessories and remote capabilities that are carefully integrated
and aligned for acoustic and mechanical compatibility. The resulting system
flexibility makes the sound reinforcement task simpler, more efficient and less
costly, supporting the ultimate objective of equality of sound to everybody in
the audience. Discover even more about d&b audiotechnik systems and the realisation
of democracy for listeners by contacting your local
